  • I need to stop this nonsense

This ridiculous weeping for no apparent reason has got to stop or we are gong to have to christen summer reading The Veil of Tears. Honestly.Reach into the prize bag and get a packet of tissue to wipe Ms.Norman’s tears. Sheesh.

The tulips are blooming in the church yard so that counts for something. They are the yellow ones and that made me smile.

An early morning with the kids made me laugh.

All of these are good things.  So perhaps the tears are too.

I am bound and determined to attend a Quaker meeting this summer.  I think I need to sit in that silence with a group of people and get there from here – wherever the hell I am.

You can’t help anyone until you help yourself.  I used to think that was selfish but I understand it now – stuck as I am in this muck and mire.  Bootstraps, my girl. Pick yourself up by your own and get your act together. Enough of feeling sad and sorry and helpless and go or get off the pot.

    Rah, rah, rah.

    And so it goes

  • No truer words, though I’m a hypocrit for saying so (i.e. “Do as I say, not as I do” (pained smile)).

  • I got some tissues if you need ‘em.

A wise friend of mine told me that she thinks the spring is a kind of set-up emotionally. Like we are supposed to be hopeful and the like and some people just aren’t ready to be bludgeoned with all that at once. And those types might feel double woe due to the expectations of what seems like the world itself.

It can be overwhelming. I say cry if you need to and drink plenty of fluids.

  • Unexpected tears?  They’ve been an issue lately here too….I was blaming hormones and and overloaded work schedule….trite comments will not help….but I did want you to understand that you are heard and are being cared for.

  • tears are just the hearts way of cleansing itself…  getting here from there, isn’t always so easy… my advice take your time, and step back once and awhile and just simply breathe….

  • Rah rah rah indeed. I do that cheer often! the bootstraps are always good to grab hold of and work out of the mire. Keep up the efforts. This too will pass. Something else will take its place!
